10ply cotton singlet/tank

We have had a few tough days,just lack of sleep basically. Also J biting while feeding which is no fun.

Here's my pattern for 10ply singlet. Great for Summer as a tank with a favourite nappy or for extra warmth under a shirt in cold places like Melbourne.



10ply cotton with 5mm needles.

BACK-

CO 40sts
Starting with purl row ss 33 rows.
Cast off 3 sts next 2 rows. Dec end each row til 30sts.
Continue ss 17 rows
K10 co10 k10
Continue on last 10stitches dec at neck edge each row til 7sts remain.
Repeat for other 10sts .

FRONT-

CO 40sts
Starting with purl row SS 33rows
Cast off 3 sts next 2 rows. Dec end each row til 30sts.
SS 3 rows
K12 co6 k12
Continue on these 12sts dec at neck edge each row until 7sts remain. SS for the same length as back.
Repeat for other side.
Sew pieces together at the shoulders and sides.
Crochet around neck edge and armholes if you wish.

I have made a few of these but this is the first time I wrote down the pattern. I am not a designer or a pattern writer and it needs testing.
Fits about an average one year old. Please note cotton tends to shrink in the wash lengthways .
