Mum's tea towel topper for Christmas

I have made 3 tea towel toppers as gifts. Just basically crocheting through the top of the tea towel, skipping stitches on each row and a row or two skipping each other row. When there is about 7 sts I continue straight add a buttonhole (skip a stitch or 2 in the middle) then finish. I may write out the pattern properly.
