My first test crochet, quick and fun. Av was very keen to try them on.

Striped hood

I used leftovers from the blanket I made for my 6yo. Patons Washed Haze which is cotton/acrylic 10ply.

I like the result. J was not so keen, rather laughing and throwing it off.

My 6yo graciously modelled it...

...as did my almost 10yo.

Menstrual cup pouches

I made one (uterus shaped) for me and the berry one for my daughter for when her time comes. The uterus shaped one is fantastic, fits my mooncup snugly. Not that I need it at the moment, but its nice to be prepared.

Crocheted in 1824 cotton and the green is Anchor Magicline.

Organic Bombay

J has been so sweet lately, giving kisses. He also whacks me and bites. But the adorable kisses make up for it. He is very keen to walk around the house and spends a great time of the day just walking.
Unfortunately we haven't been very well at our house with a nasty bug going aroud even affecting Mama.
But I have enjoyed just hanging out with the family.

Bombay Love is a very quick pattern and cute too. I did get confused with the tie and I need to fix it on to the body better and then it will be great!

Made with Blue Sky undyed organic cotton and edged with Debbie Bliss Eco cotton.

Orange yoked sweater

I had wanted to try Blue Sky organic cotton for a while.

This is a yoked sweater worked up easily and quickly.

I reckon it looks awesome on J

Crocheted tank

Crocheted tank top for baby in Blue Sky Alpaca skinny organic cotton (8ply). Its a little small/short for J but I love it anyway. It has a little button on the front.

J has been taking more steps on his own.

Cotton tee

I saw this pattern and it was similar to what I tried to make just last week, so I started it right away with scraps of organic cotton and  Sierra (wool/cotton).

I used 10ply with 5mm to hopefully fit J.

Steps

J spent most of yesterday evening, getting up to stand then take a few steps at a time. He was quite impressed and delighted with himself. He also stands up to dance. His balance is improving all the time.
His sister and brothers are in awe of their baby brother growing up. We all are.

He is wearing his new toddler sized singlet made from beautiful Debbie Bliss Fair Trade eco cotton in purple. It barely (if ever) splits and its so soft. I would love some more.

Ribbed singlet

My little boys and I have severe colds at the moment so its been slow with the knitting. I wanted to make a ribbed version of my singlet pattern. Its longer too. Knit with Cleckheaton natural cotton 8ply. Its splitty but gorgeous as far as cotton goes.

Oh how we love our handmade cotton singlets. Here is my latest made with 3 different types of 8ply cotton including Heirloom 8ply cotton. Usually I find the best stuff at opshops. Its hard to find the perfect twist for the texture that I like.
Here's my pattern. Very basic singlet, that I have made many of, for my boys over the years. If you choose to use it let me know. It needs testing.

8ply cotton with 4mm needles

BACK

CO 50sts. Starting with purl row, ss 47rows
Cast off 3sts next 2 rows. Dec end each row til 40sts.
SS 21rows
K10 cast off 20 sts K10
Continue on these 10 sts.
At neck edge, dec every row til 7sts remain. Cast off at shoulder edge.
Repeat for other shoulder.

FRONT

CO 50sts
Starting with purl row SS 47rows.
Cast off 3sts next 2 rows. Dec end each row til 40sts.
SS 4 rows
K15 cast off 10 K15
Continue on the 15. Dec every other row til 7sts remain. Continue til same length of back. Cast off.
Repeat for other side.

Seam sides and shoulders using mattress stitch.
Crochet around neck edge.

Soft and Cuddly

Crocheted from unknown yarn from Wangaratta Mills. I am sure its cotton about 20ply so very lovely and soft and thick. I used 500grams in 3 pastel colours. If I can get more I will add more rounds and a nice border edging.

My 3 year old liked matching the cut off strands to the colours on the blanket.
My 6 month old liked pulling at the clusters and spaces.

I love how many facial expressions appear on my son.



He can seem hiliarously happy to sad to curious to serious and even more in such a short time.

J has had his second cold ever courtesy of his 3 year old brother. He hasn't been sleeping as well as he usually does. But he seems to on the improve.
