Busy
Our daughter has started junior cadets at St Johns which she is very excited about. She is growing up so quickly now. Our eldest boy is so independant. He reminds me all the time -"I want to do want to do." I want that for him though I have to remind him to respect others so they have choices too. Our 3 year old is a challenge. He is so wonderful and sweet then also very loud and demanding also. J is getting so big and active and still very deserving of the happiest baby alive title.

Soft and Cuddly

Folded

Crocheted from unknown yarn from Wangaratta Mills. I am sure its cotton about 20ply so very lovely and soft and thick. I used 500grams in 3 pastel colours. If I can get more I will add more rounds and a nice border edging.

My 3 year old liked matching the cut off strands to the colours on the blanket.
My 6 month old liked pulling at the clusters and spaces.

Bamboozle hairscarfs

Bamboozle hairscarf close up

Bamboozle is a lovely yarn with a heavy drape. Does split but so does most soft (not twisted) cottons and I guess bamboo. This is my first time using bamboo yarn.

First one I made would fit older girl.

I had enough from the one ball to make a second triangle headscarf.

This one is a toddler size.

First food

J was 6 months on Saturday. I had thought brocoli would be a good first food but zuchini may be preferred so I let him choose. Finally I got to use our rice cooker with steamer. Initially J enjoyed playing with the plate! He picked up the brocoli but only sucked on the zuchini. He had a little and was done. He took it well.
I have mixed feelings about him having solids. I am happy for him to have tastes but meals and weaning will be long time coming I hope.
J rocks (6 months)

My littliest boy is 6 months tomorrow!
He can sit up. Roll from front to back and back to front. And has just started to rock back and forth in preparation for crawling. Too bad I am not ready...

Very happy with this simple red hat, crocheted in wool. Though difficult to photograph, I like the vibrant red.

I really enjoy crochet and I am improving so much that I think I can now say I can crochet.

Watch Wednesday
My 9 year old daughter really wanted to go the ferris wheel. Then she is not so sure when we are on it!
Meanwhile my almost 6 year old is holding my hand tightly yet is happy.
And my three year old wishes he was on a more daring ride!
Moomba Waterfest 2009
Hubby took his pouch and J slept in there until we left and I took him in the mei tai.
We took snacks and drinks in the hope we could avoid spending money.
So apart from taking the kids on the ferris wheel we didn't spend much.
(See previous blog entry and video to see how the kids liked the wheel).
I was drawn to the musical performances of course. It was too loud for the kids though.
