Replacement shoelaces

Replacement shoelaces

These shoes were the first real shoes I bought my eldest son. It was the first time I had bought shoes at a real shoes store for kids too. It was a good experience. These are expensive shoes and even though I paid much less than retail it was still expensive. I believe looking after kids feet is very important. My eldest son wore these before he could walk and they actually helped him to take more confident steps. I have since preferred soft soled shoes on my babies.
These just fit J but one of the original shoelaces were missing so I crocheted replacements in Cascade Fixation. Very simple -just a chain.

Shoes

I wanted to make a pair of shoes that would be practical for J. They are a tad long, even fitting my 6 year old's big foot. I ended up buying him some guitar Robeez.

Loafers

I really like the look of crocheted loafers. I improvised the shoe except the insoles which is from the teddy bear loafer pattern. I used recycled yarn and even crocheted the buttons. I think they turned out alright and quite cute. They would fit about 3-6 months and are destined for the gift box for the next baby who would suit them.
