Simple chunky love

Our beautiful blanket as it is now. Being loved by the whole family as they  jump on our bed and snuggle up to it. It is bordered with plum coloured Plymouth alpaca which I adore. its so soft and lovely to touch and work with. I still want to add to it.

Malabrigo singletsuit and slippers

I had an idea for a crochet singlet early one morning and crocheted this suit up that day. I am very happy with it though its a little tight on J. It has buttons for a crotch opening.

These slippers were so quick and easy. Made in Malabrigo which is nice to work with.

Some colours

Losing inspiration for knit and crochet so have been on the look out for other ways to be creative. I have been colouring wool and experimenting. If I use vinegar I have washed the wool with wool wash because its upleasant to me to work with otherwise. A couple colours lost their vibrancy and I am not sure why. The yellow is my favourite from these lots.

First attempt at needle felting

I felt inspired to try needle felting. It was meant to be a teddy bear but I found it wasn't looking like one so here is Thing and Guitar.
At least the kids thought they were cool.

Oh and I did slice my finger with the needle.

First time with jelly

I was colouring some Aran organic merino with food dye but didn't have any blue.
My eldest son mentioned the jelly (given to us by friends). I used the berry blue. I didn't realise he meant he wanted me to make it for him to eat...not colour the wool.
I used vinegar instead of cirus acid this time. It smells. The colour to me appears more generic and bright.

Favourite colours

Black, red and purple on 10ply organic merino. I love the red, it came out bright and vibrant. The purple is great, a deep dark purple. The black was strange and it felted some but will be still used.

I haven't dyed wool for a while and upon discovering some Kool-Aid hiding in my craft stuff I did a ball.

Jar Swap Reveal June09

Of course, I forgot to take a photo of what I sent. I had a recycled box and filled it with PUL and fabric, buttons and other sewing bits and pieces.
I received my swap box today.

Beautiful colourful yarn (Aran merino from Zansthings), soap, needles and vintage patterns which I adore in a lovely rose box. Aren't I lucky?!
