My slouch in Woolganics. Originally light green, I over dyed in black. Love it!

My shawler. The pattern was gifted to me by Jordan in the Ravaholics Mother's Day swap.  I used Yarn Cafe Polwarth 12ply merino striped with Cascade Eco+ and the hood is Cascade baby alpaca.

Sweet knits

My sweet boy doesn't hate hats any more! He even puts them on himself and doesn't remove them!

He requested to also try on this top which is meant to fit 6-12m. I bought the Hearts for Haiti in support of the Haiti relief effort. Both are knit in Manos del Uraguay Wool Clasica which is fun. The colours are beautiful but its hard to photograph true, the texture is lovely, like handspun and soft too.

Crocheted hats, easy. Right? Not this one. It took me a while to even get it started. But the result is interesting and even better, practical. It fits and its lovely.

I used Woolganics 8ply and Treliske trim.

Making hats in Summer

Its Summer, yet I find the urge to make hats.

This one is crocheted in double stranded bamboo soy blend (Moda Vera).

TriceraTops hat

With the remainder of the Noro Furoside I made a hat for J though its a tad small. Not to mention he isn't fond of hats and its not the weather for it either, but I happily knit them anyway!

 

I modified the hat a little from this pattern.

Noro Furoside paper hat

 

I like this hat, it was fun and easy to make.

Made from Noro Furoside which is wool/cotton/silk blend. It does break eaily and felt a little like paper but I did still enjoy knitting with it. The pattern was great too.

Boobah for brain power

This was a fun project. I saw the pattern on Ravelry and thought I needed to buy some pink yarn. Why pink, I do not know. I don't know if anyone has boobahs this colour.
Av loved the colour and wanted me to make a hat for him. J only kept the hat on while I fed him, advocacy times two.

Versatile hat for value

Head Hugger

I love these colours. So much fun to work with.

 

Its Lily Sugar and Creme with black for hdc and multi for the dc.

The pattern is Head Huggers.

Bulky hat

 

Bulky hat crocheted in Bernat felting wool. Fast and fun.

Striped dragon hood.

This became somewhat a community project! Av coloured the yarns and decided he wanted me to make him a dragon hat. The boys picked a button and my 6 year old sewed on the button.

He was asking why I didn't use the sewing machine to sew the button on so I showed him that it's easy enough to do it by hand. He was surprised at how quick and easy it was.

I wasn't too sure about the stripes but the colours are amazing and makes for a fun hat. The heat has been on lately yet Av still wants to wear the hat. It is knit in aran organic merino.

Baby bonnet

I think this is the forth time I have made this baby bonnet, its quick cute and sweet.

I used a small amount of Zanz 5ply merino/nylon.

Newborn sweetness

Hat and mittens crocheted in Fixation cotton/elastic for a friend's newborn baby (yet unnamed) who is absolutely gorgeous.

Fixation summer hat

Fixation is a cotton with elastic content. Its hard to work with at first but much easier than using knitting in elastic like I have done in years past.

A hat that may stay on longer than most and stretches to fit.

Star Dangled Hat

Hat crocheted from aran organic merino hand coloured by me. Its a great pattern and easily adapted. I modified to fit J though it stretches to fit Av as awell.
A year ago I could only dream of crocheting things like this.

Roving wild

Crocheted from roving, mostly spun single, I really like this hat.
Sadly J has nil interest in wearing hats atm.

Convert

As requested by my eldest son, I made a convertible hat/cowl with hand coloured organic merino.

Aviatrix

Aviatrix is a fitted hat bonnet for babies complete with ear flaps. Its very cute.























I was worried it would be too small but it fits very well with room to grow.I put 2 buttons on it.
I used Woolganic 8ply Gaia, only about 35grams or so.

Handspun hat

My first handspun project, a hat. Its very cute though of course,getting a 10 month old to wear it may well be impossible. The yarn was hand spun by me and part of it coloured by Av.
